States of Alderney
The States of Alderney Legislative Assembly do not have an official Hansard report. There are no plans at this present time to introduce an official report. However, the States of Alderney are committed to continually reviewing and improving their procedures and the facilities available and therefore does not discount its introduction in the future.
The current procedure of communicating its decisions is through the issuing of a “Billet d’Etat” and “Deliberations” for every States Meeting. The Billet is the agenda for a forthcoming States Meeting and is published and available to the public. It is also available on the website and in the public library.
The Deliberations are the formal record of the decisions made at the States Meetings. These are available to the public and available online and in the public library.
Every States Meeting is recorded using a tape recorder. These are not transcribed as a rule. If a particular item is the subject of a debate, a full transcript of that debate is available on request. It is also possible to have a transcript of a whole States Meeting. This service is available on the payment of an appropriate fee. This does provide for an informal official report.
